Endless Possibilities

About this Blog
My whole life, I have wondered what it means to be human in this world, trying to understand where I fit in with the great scheme of life. I grew up reading mythologically based stories, Carl G. Jung and other philosophical and spiritual texts, and I went on to study psychology, eastern medicine, and trauma in an attempt to make sense of all the suffering I continued to experience and observe around me. After spending decades integrating the sometimes opposing ideas of science and religion, and facts and truths commonly accepted, I have come up with my own theory of humanity and its relation to the world. Everything I write is based on a few base beliefs I understand the world through.
-
Everything happens for a reason, and it fucking sucks
-
Everything anyone says holds a grain of truth and cannot be discounted
-
Nothing is inherently good or bad, everything simply is what it is in the moment.
-
How we interpret things depend largely on our perspective and gathered experiences in life.
-
There are no absolute facts or truths. Everything we knew as the truth at one point in time has been disproven as being an eternal truth and shown to be just one idea of what life could be.
-
Trauma is inherent in life and cannot be avoided. However, its impact can be lessened by compassion, love, and inclusion. Punishment and judgment only add to trauma and lead to a more suffering.
-
There are no static hierarchies, no straight lines forward, no endless rising; what goes up, must come down.
Rather than seeing life as a series of unrelated moments, I see everything through the perspective of time, which I divide in three parts: the past, the present, and the future. In this blog, I will explain my view of the world and humanity through this 3-dimensional lens the best way I can, interwoven with my academic, clinical, and personal lived experiences. Hopefully, I can present a new perspective in a divided world that is ripping apart at the seems, and give people a glimpse into a world in the middle, where opposites can exist without hostility, violence, and wars.

*** DISCLAIMER ***
Everything expressed in this blog are my personal opinions. While they are based in decades of academic studies coupled with clinical and lived experiences, I do not claim for them to be THE truth. However, they are truths born of patterns I have observed in many of my students and patients, and that have helped me overcome many challenges with grace and gratitude, and enable me to see others outside of the binary lens of good and bad.
